Visiting tropical London

London end of May 2026: 32 degrees! But this was not the only detail which surprised me. Walking and biking countless kilometers through streets full of history, culture and energy. From iconic historical sites to hidden corners full of charm as soon you leave the big avenues. One absolute highlight was the immersive Frameless exhibition. But what impressed me most? The people. Kind, welcoming, not really surprisingly multi-national and full of positive vibes .. except the testosterone driven young men (at least it's my guess) terrorising the city during night on four or two wheels. And yes.. even the food was delicious. Believe it or not..

For me the best option: docking station at Green Park and easy to use with the Cycle Hire app. Choice between e-bike or normal bike. The autonomy of the e-bike however was limited although I used it a lot..

First ride with the tube and I discovered inevitably one sad part of UK reality which is doubtlessly close to ours.

FRAMELESS exhibition is a must for everyone. Singles, couples, families.. Foresee easily 2 hours and you won't be disappointed.

Now ICE also present in London? At first glance only and I prefer the traditional POLICE..

Very nice view from the Buckingham Palace. But this photo doesn't tell everything. I stay here on a little bridge in the St James's Park and this place was overcrowded with people trying to shoot this iconic picture..

I simply love the architecture in London..

Sunday morning approaching Soho village..

When future meets tradition..

Rarely, however, have I experienced such a stark contrast between decadent wealth and extreme poverty, and all within just two blocks of each other. What is also striking is the fact that people – myself included, I must admit – hardly carry any cash on them anymore, making it increasingly difficult for the homeless to collect money.

The Guardian (March 26, 2026): London has England’s highest levels of child poverty, data shows: About 38% of children in London live in relative poverty, compared with 29% in England as a whole.

I couldn't avoid experiencing live the N°1 sport in England: Premier league. The choice for the last game season at Tottenham Hotspurs was a good one. Again very friendly people. It was obvious that I was the first time in the stadium and some fans guided me without even being asked.

And here my favourite lunch experience and yes it was worth every Pound!
